It’s available for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android, but not iOS (it’s one of the best browsers for Mac). Vivaldi manages to keep a clean interface despite the large number of tools and features stowed away under the hood. Vivaldi is based on Google’s open-source framework Chromium, as most web browsers are in this day and age, but Vivaldi departs substantially from Chrome in several ways, as we’ll see throughout this review. Nevertheless, most Chrome extensions will work with the browser if you still need additional capabilities.

There are other things I like about Vivaldi browser but I'm not trying to sell it here, just saying it's definitely worth a try if you have given Brave a good run but still not 100% satisfied. The primary reasons for swapping are that Vivaldi's Ad and Tracker blocking is now as good as Brave Browser's (my previous macOS default) and Vivaldi's simple split screen function. I guess i will just have to abandon my old preference for the same browser on all my devices. So much so that it is now my default browser both on my old 2010 MacBook and 2015 MBPr. For now they are concentrating on the macOS, Linux and Windows versions and I have to say the macOS version is much improved.

There are no current plans to port the mobile version currently available on Android to iOS. For some time I have pestered the developers of Vivaldi Browser for when an iOS version might be released and it's become plain that it's a monumental task for them.
